Son Marroig Villa

Son Marroig was one of the properties of Archduke Luis Salvador of Austria (1847-1915) in the Sierra de Tramuntana. The house-museum was created in 1927 as a way to preserve and disseminate the emblematic figure of this great traveler from Mallorca. It contains books, drawings and personal effects of the Archduke, a collection of works of Majorcan painters and cabinets with antique necklaces and Phoenician Greek and Roman objects and ceramics. It's very nice to have a walk around the gardens and stopping by the Ionic temple, where you'll enjoy one of the most amazing views of the island. Son Marroig hosts the International Music Festival of Deià since 1978.
