Sant Francesc Church is one of the main religious buildings of Mediterranean Gothic style in the island. Its construction began in 1281 and it took 100 years to complete the vault. Of special beauty are the gothic façade and the cluster within the church, built in 15th century. The church was proclaimed a minor basilica in 1943 by Pope Pius XII. All the area around Sant Francesc is very nice for strolling around and having a drink in some of the numerous terraces.
