The Regional Museum of Artà was created in 1927 by a group of intellectuals and scientists as a way of preserving the cultural and natural heritage of Artà and Mallorca. The museum has three different sections: the ethnological, which includes Majorcan fabrics, spinning instruments and a collection of working tools produced in Artà's region. The natural history section, that consists in a collection of birds and insects, marine and terrestrial mollusks, fossil specimens, etc. And the archeological section, containing a wide variety of pieces of pottery, bronze, iron and bones belonging to different pretalayotic and talayotic periods.
