Platja de Migjorn is situated on the southern coast of Formentera and with its 6km is by far the longest beach on the island with beach areas like Es Mal Pas, Ca Marí, Còdol Foradat, es Arenals or es Copinar. Platja de Migjorn is at 2 kms from Sant Francesc Xavier between Mal Pas and Caló des Morts. One of the most popular of all the beaches, Playa Migjorn boasts fine white sand (some stretches partly scattered with rocks), clear blue sea, spotted with little fun beach bars and quality restaurants. It is also a paradise for nudists and for snorkelers the off-shore rocks hide a wealth of marine life. Its coast occupies nearly all the southern area of Formentera, declared Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès de Platja de Migjorn-Costa de Tramuntana, from Punta d'Anguila and de sa Fragata, including Punta des Vell Marí, el Corb Marí, racons de s'Argelar and Fondo, es Valencians, es Arenals and es Ram. In this natural setting nudism is allowed. This beautiful and virgin beach is characterized by being very long, with wonderful wild corners (inlets and coves), thick pine woods and bushes, wind blowing from the sea, the ground is covered by high and extense posidonia meadows, crystal clear water which invite to dive, the beach is not too crowded and it combines the sandy area with some cliffs and rocky areas. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are not very safe, you have to be very careful because of the reefs in the proximity of the coast, rocky barriers parallel to the coast, and it is exposed to the wind from the second and third quadrant. If you anchor, do it at 100 metres from the coast, where you will find a rocky and sandy ground. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car, moped or bicycle can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport.
