Platja de Llevant is situated at three kilometres from es Pujols, between Punta des Trucadors and Platja de ses Canyes. In this natural setting nudism is allowed. This virgin beach is very large (in this area you will find the most touristic coastal stretch Racó de ses Ampolles), lots of headlands and cliffs, rocks and fine-grained white sand, a system of dunes and a vegetation that continue toward the interior, orientation toward east, strong winds in the summer with an important swell, so that bathing might be dangerous, crystal clear water (this transparent water is the result of the absence of plancton, so that the liquid element doesn't get that cloudy), aswell as a sandy ground with seaweed and some rocky areas. This huge sandy area is separated from the old Salines d'en Marroig by the dunes, and this place has been declared Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès de ses Salines by the Parlament de les Illes Balears because of the natural richness in birds and landscape, as well as Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves (ZEPA) by the European Union. A long broad sandy beach on the north eastern coast of Formentera, Playa Llevant offers fabulous views of Ibiza. This is one of the most peaceful beaches of the island, a place where you can truly get away from it all. Sand dunes back the beach along with the old salt pans providing private and sheltered places for nudists.
