This beautiful gothic building was originally the headquarter of the Market. Guillem Sagrera, a famous Majorcan sculptor of 15th century, was  commissioned to build an appropriate place for the activities and needs of merchants and so worked on this project between 1426 and 1448. The result was this balanced composition of Catalan Gothic Style. In front the main entrance (from the square named La Lonja) a sculpture of the Guardian Angel, patron of merchants, dominates the access to the interior of this amazing construction. Palma's City Council organises interesting art exhibitions and installations in this space, the only chance to visit the interior of La Lonja.
