Gènova Caves

Gènova Caves were accidentally discovered during the construction of a well in 1906. They are formed by a set of underground galleries of calcareous origin that are joined by naturally formed corridors, 1 km in total and 36 m deep. Even if there're not as famous and as big as Drach and Hams Caves, Gènova ones are of great natural beauty, especially given by their wide range of mineral colors and the high concentration of rare formations, such as the numerous speleothems coraloide, generally very rare and hard to find. They also have a a constant natural fresh water irrigation all year round, which favors a very humid environment, a phenomenon that stands out significantly compared to the other four touristic caves in the island.
