The "Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca" began its activity in March 1981, when Joan Miró and his wife Pilar Juncosa donated to the foundation the studio of the artist, along with numerous art-works, objects and documents. According to the will of Miró and his wife, the foundation aims the diffusion of artistic knowledge and the promotion of artistic creation. The museum is a unique space, where visitors will have the possibility of discovering the working environment of the famous artist, going through his creative process and getting acquainted with his historical, artistic and cultural context. The foundation is an artistic meeting point, that offers different scholarships in order to enable writers, musicians and all those interested in art and culture to exchange ideas and to develop new projects.
