Drach’s caves are one of the most popular visits in the island as, apart from their beauty, they offer to its visitors a unique show. The complex is formed by 4 connected caves: Cova Negra (Black Cave), Cova Blanca (White Cave), Cave of Luis Salvador and Cova dels Francesos (French’s Cave). The caves were formed by the action of a water inlet from the Mediterranean Sea and some scholars consider their formation could be traced back to the Miocene period.
There’s an astonishing underground lake called Lake Martel (Llac Martel) where there are daily concerts of classical music. It’s also possible to cross the lake by boat at the end of the concert.
The tour takes about an hour and the inner temperature is around 21 °C with 80% humidity.
