Due to its long history and good conservation, the Tower of Canyamel is a must visit in the island. It seems that it was constructed during Arabs' time in the island, but it was adapted as a defensive tower under Jaime I, in 13th century. The tower is 23 meters high and was settled in a strategic position in order to guard the coast from pirates' invasions as well as providing shelter to the inhabitants of the area. The tower can be visited inside and it offers amazing views of Canyamel Bay. During summer the tower is used to organise numerous events, such as concerts, theatre plays and art exhibitions.
