The Castle of Alaró is a rock's construction located above a 817 meters mountain. It was initially a Rum people's fortification, the first Christian settlers of the island. The first construction dates back 902  a.C. and it was built in order to get defended from the arab's invasion. What we see nowadays are the remains of the different historical periods the edification went through. The views from this place are impressive: in the west, the Orient's valley, looking to the east, a huge plain and Palma city and the coast on the south. During clear days it's also possible to see the silhouette of the island of Cabrera on the shining sea. The ascent to the castle is one of most typical visits in the island.
